Welcome to the Bearsden Baha'i Website
"It is incumbent upon the peoples of the world to reconcile their differences, and, with perfect unity and peace, abide beneath the shadow of the Tree of His care and loving-kindness." - Baha'u'llah
Thank you for visiting our website. We are the Bearsden Baha'i community located just north west of Glasgow, Scotland.
We believe Bahá’u’lláh to be the awaited Promised Messenger of all Religions and He has brought new spiritual and social teachings for our time to unit mankind at this critical era. Baha'u'llah taught the oneness of God, the oneness of the humanity, and the oneness of religion. The highest teachings of all the worlds religions are enshrined in Baha'u'llah's message and the need to embrace each other as one human race. The highest human aspiration, acording to Baha'u'llah, is to love God and be of service to humanity.
There have been Baha'i's in Bearsden since the 1970's and in the United Kingdom since 1898. The first Baha'i in Scotland we think was Jane Elizabeth Whyte, the wife of Rev. Alexander Whyte, a former Moderator of the General Assembly of the United Free Church of Scotland.
